Two Meadow Mushrooms farms running identical operations on paper, producing very different power bills in practice. Legacy cooling systems and untracked fan usage created blind spots in energy performance. Management lacked the data to act with confidence.
What the data found
Tether installed targeted sensors across both farms, focused on chiller and fan performance, peak usage mapping, and power distribution clarity. The data revealed which assets were driving up usage on the higher-cost farm, and pointed to quick wins that did not require replacing the plant.
What we delivered
Rather than recommending full fan replacements, the benchmarking pointed to motor upgrades that would deliver the savings at a much lower cost. The evidence also reshaped how energy use feeds back into procurement, capital improvement decisions, and operational planning.

Why it worked
Real-time data isolated the inefficiency, validated the upgrade decision, and kept the change small. The cheap option was also the right option, and the data could prove it.
